Happy Parker

Parker smiling! I know they say the don't know they are smiling until 6 weeks, but I am convinced Parker knows what he is doing. It is not just a coincidence. Isn't he beautiful. He is the best baby.

Gavin Singing Twinkle Twinkle

Gavin singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. He tends to mush the words together, but if you listen carefully you can hear all the words in Gavin language. Gavin is obsessed with songs and now knows: Rock-a-Bye Baby, ABC's, 5 Little Monkeys, Old McDonald and Twinkle Twinkle. He is one crazy singer!

Trip to Costa Mesa

Kyle had training all week in Costa Mesa. I decided to bring the boys up and stay for two nights. I was feeling really ambitious, and planned outings for us to do while we were up there to keep us busy. Gavin did really well sleeping in the hotel room. We borrowed a roll-a-way bed for Gavin and a crib for Parker from the hotel. Our room looked over run with kids. I had no idea what kind of planning went into a two night get-a-way. It looked like we were staying for weeks, but hey I had everything I needed, and all in all it went pretty well. Our first adventure was the Long Beach Aquarium, complements of Uncle Sean, who suggested it. We had a great time. Gavin loved the outside where there was a little play area for the kids, and all the fish, who he called 'Nemo'!

Captain Gavin
This seal was awesome. It came right up to the window and Gavin loved it.

I love my boys...when they are sweet and innocent!

Parker after getting smacked by Gavin. Gavin is so hot and cold...I know he is only 19 months old...but we think he is bi-polar, just kidding.

I am beginning to figure out what having two kids is all about. I realized that Gavin needs me more than Parker. It took me the first week to understand why Gavin was extra whinny and aggressive. When I am not feeding Parker,  Parker is, I am sad to say, on his own, either in the swing or the bassinet. Parker is a super content baby so he could care less, it is just me. I feel like I am an awful mother because he is always 'on his own'! But hey, that is the only way I can keep order! Gavin is happier and life is good. I am falling in love with Parker more and more everyday. I feel bad to say this, but right when he was born I felt like he was a little bit of an intruder. We had everything under control, and here comes this baby, one I have not really gotten to know yet, into our family. Right before I had Parker I lost it. I was crying and crying telling Kyle that I am not ready yet to give up my alone time with Gavin. I was so worried that Gavin would feel replaced or neglected. But I am happy to report, Gavin is happy and very much included. A big thanks to Daddy, who right when he comes home it is all about Gavin. I have the best husband and the best kids. I feel so blessed. I look at my life and often wonder how I got here, it feels very surreal at times, but I love it. It is truly everything I wanted my life to be!

With My Cousin Addison...

My sister, Jennifer, and her two year old son, Addison came to visit this last week. Gavin and Addison had so much fun together and really became best buddies. We did a lot of activities including: train ride (new Sprinter), Flower Fields, Fashion Valley Mall, parks etc. And the boys finally got into some cousin trouble at the end of their vacation, with Gavin being the instigator; played in the toilet. At my parents house they took advantage of the no chaperon situation and decided to take it to the bathroom. When discovered by my Dad, Gavin had the toilet brush cup, scooping it with water and yes, drinking it. While Addison was scrubbing the toilet with the brush. They went through a ton of toilet paper, and were covered with wet toilet paper and toilet water. We immediately threw them into the bath and scrubbed their mouths with a lot of toothpaste. It was so gross. Boys will be boys!

I love you Addison, I miss you so much!

Gavin Skateboarding

Gavin's favorite skateboard 'trick' is his UP DOWNS! He thinks he is so rad when he preforms this trick. This little man is fearless. I am a little worried that he has no idea what his boundaries are and will, unfortunately, get himself really hurt one day. He also loves jumping to Daddy off the big skateboard ramp (probably 8 feet high). I have only heard about it; I am a little scared to actually see it. My dad saw it and was impressed with Gavin's trust for his Daddy. I guess that is a good thing?

Preforming on his left side...
And on his right side! So talented!

More of Parker...

Kyle, Gavin and Parker. Gavin is so excited about Parker. He gets so excited that he gets a little rough. He is also very protective of him, and wanted to hold him all the time. When he came in and saw him for the first time, he gave him a hug without anyone directing him to. They are going to be the best of friends...and the worst of enemies at times; brothers!
Getting all ready to go home. Almost 1 day old.
Hello!
In the car seat for the first time. He looked sooooo small.
Gavin showing Parker his bed. So proud.

Arrival at the hospital! We arrived at 2:00 pm. I was having contractions about 3 minutes apart, but still very bearable. I woke up at 7:00 the morning of with contractions, but still unsure if it was the real thing. Parker was 4 days late...much better then Gavin, who was 8 days late; maybe the next one will be on time. My sister Alison, my mom, Kyle's mom, my dad, and Kyle were all in the room during the delivery.
During transition stage. Those contractions SUCK! The only thing that kinda distracts me from the pain is the massager. Kyle puts it on full blast during the contraction, and it helps. My back is kind of paying for it today...a little sore!
Nearing towards the end. The face of natural childbirth, no relief! I was terrified to go through the pushing part of the labor. I hate that part; so uncomfortable. I did; however, get lucky with this little guy, one push and out he came.
There he is, bright eyes. He looks similar to Gavin, but different. He has a broader nose, lighter eyes and two big dimples. He is so beautiful.

Me and my boys.
