May 11, 2012: The time has finally come! Kyle is an official Firefighter for Thorton, CO. It has been quite the journey, but well worth it. For the past 3 and a half years we (yes, I am crediting myself, as well for his accomplishment) have sacrificed, struggled, endured and perserviered through one of the greatest accomplishments of our lives. The past 3 and a half years have been hard. There were many times I wanted to throw in the towel and quit, but through many tears we keep going. There were many times when we didn't have enough money for gas, groceries, rent etc. and survived on pure determination and the help of many family members. We feel so extremely grateful for our parents who have been our greatest support, always willing to give us groceries, gas money and whatever else we needed. It has been a very humbling experience financially, from making $300,000, living in a great home driving an expensive car, having little stress to making $25,000, losing our homes, cars and financial freedom. I don't even know how we did it! I am so proud of Kyle and I can't wait for the future and an awesome schedule of 2 days at the firehouse to 4 days at home! Let the fun begin!
The boys timing Daddy put his turnouts on.
